Grant Me

From Echo of My Faith

O Keeper of the spring, my soul is dried,What harm if Thou shouldst quench what thirst hath tried? My beating heart, with longing sorely pressed,Toward gardens, roses, and the jasmine quest. How many soothing songs hath nature made,And winds that breathe with tenderness displayed. They lean with neither stinginess nor fear,They give the heart both feeling and good cheer. For they are breath of God's compassion sent,To heal all wounds with gentle sentiment.O heart, if thou hadst found this gift at last,Thou wouldst be happiest of mortals cast.
