Poem

Beloved Heart, Come

O heart's beloved, draw thou near,Gladden the heart that broke with fear;
Love hath arrayed us in its foldIn purity's abundant hold.
O my beloved, take and leave me,Sip of the limpid beauty;
From tenderness that knows no end,Whose source is fountain without bend.
Love wore thee down with sore distress,Thou earned no recompense;
Thou thoughtest love a witness true,Yet found the honey bitter brew.
O gentle bird, my faithful friend,Bear my thousand passions high;
And bear fierce love that knows no endIn goblets filled from love's supply.
