Poem

O Singer, We Heard

O singer, from thy lament we heard,Tears burst like clouds that storm averred;
Would I knew who heals thy wounded core,Who comforts sorrow's hidden store.
The mother lost at weaning's breast,He drank of fate's bitter behest;
He spent his years in sickness drear,And darkness time cannot clear.
