Poem

With God

O Lord, increase in me Thy full consent,Far be it that aught else should draw me bent.
I love Thee so that I have passed beyondThe highest spheres of heaven's starry bond.
I breathed the heights, that perchance I mightBy Thee ascend to loftiest realms of light.
The ignorant declared that I had lostMy way upon the path to Thee I'd crossed.
They knew not that my feelings testifyI am of those who came forth from Thy sky.
My spirit crosses worlds, and in my heartThy radiance doth gleam and never part.
Thus I live in the world of mortal kind,Drawn by the singer of Thy love defined.
