Poem

My Devotion

Thou didst awaken in my heart's deep core,And I obeyed in Thee my soul's unrest.
O Lord, be gracious to the weak once more,Lest I should perish of this ardent test.
With contentment I have pleased Thee, and turnedFrom all the world, for Thee alone I burned.
Make Thou my love my turning from the throng,O Thou by whom my heart was scorched so long.
