Poem

Hope

My tears fall softly and my heart melts away,Is there no dear one to heal my sick decay?
Is there no dear one, foster-child of loyalty,A friend, a lover, lighting darkness lovingly?
Who would awaken in me hope's bright ray,And lift from me the bonds of pain's array?
Who would be tender to me as a gentle bird,Singing and chanting melodies most sweetly heard?
Who would inspire me with eternity's own secret,And fill my heart with blessings rich and meek?
