Poem

Love of the Impossible

Ask my soul’s king, who knows love’s burning name.
Ask me of love that melts the heart in flame.
Struck deep my core with joy and wounding scar.
The love of dreams—impossible and far—
A wish undone, yet rich with bold desire.
O longing sigh that drains my will and fire,
Drank of illusion, bittersweet in taste.
I gave my soul to a mirage I chased,
Though stars may hide, it dreams them into sight.
For hope, when blind, still paints the sky with light.
