تبكي الحياةُ فما لها؟
أترى تحسّ مآلها!
خلق الإِلهُ قضاءَها
لغزَ الوجود، فيا لها!
أقضى نهارى طيَّها
أسعى أروم جمالها
في الليل أرقبُ نجمها
ووهادَها وتلالها
ونجَادها وريَاضها
وبحارَها وجبالها
وأظلّ أجهل شأنها
وأظلّ أسأل : مالها؟!
